ClearMed is a non-prescription, all natural, supplement designed for the treatment and healing of hemorrhoids. ClearMed comes in an oral capsule form. It was developed in 2004 by two medical researchers. Although it is an over-the-counter herbal remedy, it is manufactured in an FDA certified laboratory. A person diagnosed with hemorrhoids experiences swollen and/or inflamed veins, either internally or externally, around the lower rectum. This condition, while not life threatening, can be both irritating and painful if not treated properly. Hemorrhoids may be caused by a variety of conditions, from constipation to heavy lifting. This condition is generally found in adult men and women. A person is more likely to be diagnosed with hemorrhoids as they age. It should be noted that pregnant women are very susceptible. ClearMed is used by men and women alike, in the treatment of hemorrhoids. As with all medications or natural remedies, it is recommended that pregnant or lactating women check with their doctor before taking ClearMed.
The intent behind ClearMed is that rather than direct application of a cream or gel to the affected area, instead to treat the underlying conditions causing the hemorrhoids, and do so in a non-invasive way. The capsules contain a combination of natural herbal ingredients, several of which have been used to treat hemorrhoids for years. For example, witch hazel leaf is included, which has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, while strengthening veins. Ginger root, which improves blood circulation, is also included. Another herbal ingredient is horse chestnut leaf. It has been shown to strengthen vein walls and improve on vein elasticity. These along with other ingredients work together to deliver what ClearMed calls their ‘triple action’ against hemorrhoids: shrink, heal and sooth. Because the medicine is ingested orally, it works quickly via the bloodstream to repair damaged tissue and reduce inflammation and swelling. In general, ClearMed estimates that their consumers receive some relief within approximately five to seven days.
There are some potential side effects associated with ClearMed, generally ranging from mild to moderate. These side effects include stomach irritation or distress such as cramping and flatulence. Some patients have reported an increase in bleeding in the area of their hemorrhoids, a side effect that is attributed to the ingredient, ginger. Another common side effect is a reported increase in headaches. As with any medicine, purchasers of ClearMed should be aware that there is a possibility of drug interactions.
ClearMed consumers are typically men or women who are interested in trying an herbal remedy, and perhaps have tried other external remedies without success. As an oral supplement, it can be taken any time without resorting to physical application of a topical treatment or ointment.
